Like any other middle-class Indian with dreams of succeeding in life, I continued grinding between the wheels of Corporate life and the stress it brings. By this time I had worked in some of the best organizations in the world, namely, the British Council (as a Corporate Trainer and as an English Teacher), Concencrix Daksh (as a Voice and Accent Trainer), Byju’s (as a Communication Trainer), Anthology (as a Senior Communication Trainer).

But as destiny would have it, I was diagnosed with uncontrolled sugar in my blood (Diabetes) in late 2020. Sugar levels were more than 400+mg/dl (whereas the normal levels should have been 70-100 mg/dl) in my blood which made the doctor stare at my report at one moment and at my face the next. I was put on strict medication and diet however the sugar levels hovered around 180 mg/dl. 

All my family members were concerned about my health however the disease came as a blessing in disguise in my life. It so happened that I came across a Yoga teacher, Ms Nisha Ahya, (my heart fills with gratitude when I think of her) while touring across Rishikesh who convinced me to try Yoga to cure Diabetes. To my amazement, my sugar levels showed a consistent downward trend and it reached 125 mg/dl. That was when I realized the power of Yoga and decided to pursue it with full faith for the rest of my life. I gave up my job and attended my first 200-hour TTC course (Astanga and Hatha) in Mysore in March 2023. Since then, I have been working as a Yoga instructor for Stri Wellness (an organization dedicated to the health and wellness of women) and have been serving people suffering from various diseases.

A style of yoga that links movement and breath in a smooth sequence of poses.

Ashtanga Yoga is a vigorous and dynamic form of hatha yoga that integrates the eight limbs of yoga into one complete system

My Yoga Journey

My journey in yoga began a long time ago where I then decided to pursue teaching yoga just over a year ago. I am a passionate Hatha and Ashtanga teacher where I empower each of my students to understand the true meaning of yoga.
